Short board Don Burford Condition: good Size: 5'5" x 19" Short Description: This little Burford is an example of a 1970 twin fin, and made when Don Burford was still making boards in South Australia, before the big move to Currumbin on the Gold Coast.
This shape was mainly influenced by ex-California surfer/shaper Tom Hoye, who turned several Aussie manufacturers onto this design, including Bennetts in Sydney.
He then moved over to the West Coast and established a little surfboard operation at Yallingup in 1971.
A very plain deck showing some early damage and watermarks but the dings are now repaired and the blue bottom and rails are a recent colour job. The bottom displays the best as it has the Burford laminate and original fins, which are very cool indeed! The whole board has had a fresh coat of clear resin that could be wet'n'dried and polished for more of a shine.
These early twinnies are quite difficult to find as they weren't around for very long, and this isn't a bad example to add to your collection!
Price: $695.00
